1 : I've lost/deleted my keyfile, what do I do ?    
If you have lost/misplaced/deleted your ESEkeyfile.xml then you must pay 5.50 euros as notified on our website prior to the download!

2 : How does the Registration Tool work ?    
The Registration Tool (which is very self explanatory), will add your username & password to the database. It also has an 'update / install ESE files' button that will (obviously) install and / or update the ESE files on your PC.

When you've completed the registration, it will also create another file:

ESEKeyFile.xml

We cannot stress how important it is that you backup this file immediately.

3 : What if my TacticalOps is renamed differently, how will ESE know this?    
Upon registering via our ESEReg.exe, you are prompted to locate and select your TacticalOps game executable, this will always be remembered.

4 : Will individuals be stuck to a single nickname for the rest of their AOT career?    
NO.
You'll be able to change your nicknames at a later stage

5 : Could I create 3 different authnames (max amount per person), aRny, bArny & mArny and with each of those join several clans?    
The idea with the 3 Authnames is for case's where "my brother cheated" .. so we could ban the brother only...and not prevent other people from the same PC being banned!

6 : How and where do I backup my ESEKeyfile.xml?    
If you are unaware of how or where to backup your ESEkeyfile.xml then please follow these steps:-


    1. Copy the Keyfile to another location on your Harddrive - (not recommended)
    2. Backup the Keyfile by exporting/copying it to an external USB stick (pendrive) - (recommended)
    3. Copy the Keyfile to another PC on your network, or laptop - (recommended)
    4. Burn your Keyfile to CD/DVD (preferebly re-writable as to not waste a disk.. personal preference) - (recommended)
    5. Email your Keyfile to your personal email address - highly recommended
    6. DO ALL OF THE ABOVE - most recommended



NOTE:
I can not stress the importance of how vital it is to BACKUP your ESEKeyfile, otherwise you will have to pay 5.50 Euro in order to retrive your details again (hard, long manual process from the Staff)
Secondly, it is just as important to remember your Password matching the registration useraccount!! Thus, I recommend writing the password of your account(s) in a word.doc or text.txt document and including this with your backup Keyfile (zip or rar them together)

7 : What is my PUID or CID number?    
I Can Access my Account Manager
If you need to know what your PUID and/or CID number is but do not know how to file it, please read the following page which is hosted on our Knowledge Base centre:

I Can not Access my Account Manager...but have my ESEKeyfile now what?
If you can not access the Account Manager for any particular reason, you can find out by doing the below:

- Find where your "ESEKeyfile.xml" file is located on your PC, (default path is C:\Program Files\Infogrames\Tactical Ops\System)
- Right click on the file and "Open with" Notepad

At the top it will display something similar to the below:

This is the information we will require from you.

I Can not Access my Account Manager AND I do not have my ESEKeyfile... now what?
If you can not access the Account Manager and do not have your ESEKeyfile (or can not find it) please do the below:

- Go to your ESE Installation folder (default path is C:\Program Files\ESE)
- Double click and open the file "ESEReg.ini"

At the top it will display something similar to the below:

NOTE: FOR SECURITY REASONS, DO NOT PASTE ANY OTHER INFORMATION FROM the ESEReg.ini OR ESEKeyfile.xml TO YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY OR EVEN THE ESE TEAM OTHER THAN THE AUTH AND PUID.

BY DOING SO, YOU DO AT YOUR OWN RISK!

8 : I Have registered with ESE AccMgr, but NO email received?    
If you made a new username registration with the ESE Account Manager, but have not received an email for verification/activation after waiting 1 hour then please check your SPAM-Folders before you request a Playeractivation.

You must wait 12 hours after running the script again above, it will take time so please be patient


## UPDATE ##
If you can not select your "username" from the 'Settings' tab folder within the ESE Account manager - therefore you do not know your PUID, please join #ese and tell us your problem clearly the first time (so we don't point you back here) with !ask and someone will help you directly.

9 : Communication socket error    
If you are trying to login to the ESE Account Manager and receive the "Communication socket error" then it means our registration server which handles the Account manager login, member & clan management is currently under maintenance.

1. Can I still play on ESE servers and have a green light?
YES! Our trust server and Reg server are different systems, and 1 can work without the other.

2. Does this mean I can not maintain/update or create new account/clan?
YES - however only until the system is back up and running.

3. How long do I have to wait for it to work again - when will I know?
Unspecified, it could take 10 minutes, 1 hour or 1 day! Your best bet is to wait a few hours and try again later!
(if you experience this problem for many hours or a day, and there is no news or update to tell of long downtime, please ask in #ese support channel with !ask <question>

10 : Authentication error code=302    
If you experience this "Authentication error" code=302 check you have done the following:

1. Confirm your ESEkeyfile.xml file is in your ...tacticalops\system\ Directory
2. Make sure you open the ESE Account Manager.exe and go to 'Settings' and manually select the path of your tacticalops.exe file (this will then locate the Keyfile automatically)

If you still experience this authentication error (normally by trying to register an account) it means you have registered too many times and exceeding the limit of 3 accounts!
You can rectify this issue by replacing your ESEKeyfile.xml in to your ...TacticalOps\System\ directory and the Account Manager will find your old username(s) registered. You will then be able to login via the control panel and update, install client as necessary.

If you are banned - tough luck
